Sports wrap up

On Sunday Ernest and I went to the Stanford vs. Washington basketball game.  The UW played well but Stanford kept it close.  The good news was that the turn overs that seem to plague the Dawgs in the Cal game seem to be taken care of.  Nate Robison after having one great spin move shot that was impressive.  He also had one bonehead play.  With 30 seconds left the Dawgs had the ball and a one point lead.  Instead of holding the ball and running out the clock (or waiting to be fouled) he decided to put up a shot from the side.  What was he thinking?  Stanford got the rebound and brought it back down and missed their shot.  Mike Jensen got the board for the Dawgs and was fouled but made both of his free throws to put the Dawgs up by three with 12 seconds left and they were able to hold on for the win.
The Dawgs stayed with the fifth best RPI in the country this week and moved up in the polls to 14 in the ESPN/Coaches and 12 in the AP.  Go Dawgs!

The Seahawks still struggled but got a win and wrapped up the NFC West title going 9-7.  This gets them a home playoff game against St. Louis who has already beat them twice this year.

The Sonics are still doing well and took Shaq and company to town with a win yesterday.  Shaq and the Miami Heat will be here on Sunday.  Look for me in the front row, or rather the first row of permanent seats sitting behind the scorers table close to the Sonics bench.

Contrats to USC that won it all in college football.  I will be the only person to point out that the UW played better against USC than OK. St. did in the national champonship game.
