T-Birds 2, Americans 0

Monday night I went to the second playoff game between the Seattle Thunderbirds and the Tri-city Americans.  This was not the five period affair that the two teams had in their first game.  For the second game in a row the T-Birds were a little light in the number of defenders they had on the roster.  This makes things a bit rougher for the team but they were able to pull through.  After a scoreless first period the T-Birds got lucky when for the second game in a row the Americans goalie, Price, made a big mistake.  In a nonchalantly clearing of the puck he sent it right to Mitch Fadden who promptly hit it back at him for the T-Birds first goal.  In the third period the lack of depth started to show for the T-Birds and the Americans tied it up.  The defense had a chance to clear the puck but did not and it was taken away for the goal.  The T-Birds fought back and you could tell they were not going to play another overtime game.  With about eight minutes left in the third period and the puck just sitting outside of the goal and beside the goalie Aaron Gagnon tapped it in to give the T-Birds the win!
The best of seven series moves to Kennewick for two games in the Tri-cites.  A sweep looks good for the birds.
