Sunday night I went to the Thunderbirds vs. Rockets playoff hockey game. The T-Birds were up in the series 3-2. In every game in this playoff series the visiting team has won but I have to say that I think the T-Birds have been getting a bit lucky including a win with 10 second left in a game going into overtime in Game 5 in Kelonwa. Game 6 kept the pattern alive with the Rockets winning 2-0. I have no idea what is wrong with the T-Birds as of late. They actually had more shots on goal than the Rockets and the power plays were about equal in the game so it is not as if the Rockets had more of an advantage. Tuesday night in Kelonwa will be the deciding game. The winner gets Koteney which beat Everett in four straight for the Western Division title. It was good to see a little bigger crowd which I have to assume includes many Everett fans that were up to two years ago T-Birds fans.
Good luck birds.
Update: I just checked the score and the T-Birds lost game seven 2-1 and are out of the playoffs. Like game six they outshot the Rockets but they got two in the first and the T-Birds could only get one in the third. The streak and the season are over.
