T-Brids vs. Wheat Kings

Friday night I was in Key Arena to see the Brandon Wheat Kings take on the Seattle Thunderbirds.  Let me say boy do the Wheat Kings suck.  This really surprised me as I thought all of the teams in the Eastern division were good but there is a big drop off whereas in the US division I think this year there is a lot of parity.  The T-Birds went up 1-0 in the first period.  In the second period they added three more goals including one by one of the twins Joshua Schappert who got his first goal in the Western Hockey League.  I was not feeling well so I went home and missed the third period but the T-Birds scored again and the Wheat Kings got one on a power play for a final score of 5-1.  I was a bit bummed because if the T-Birds score six in a game we would get a coupon for a free pizza.  Roman Tomanek had two goals for the Birds.  This moved the record to 4-5-1 for the T-Birds but the Silvertips are on a big roll right now and we are falling father behind in the standings in the US division
