Huskies vs. Vandals

Tuesday night I was in Hec Ed to see how the UW Huskies would fair against the U. of Idaho Vandals.  The Dawgs had just moved into the top 25 at #25 and the Vandals had just come off of a close game where they almost beat Gonzaga at home.  The Vandals really could not run with the Dawgs.  It was 11-0 before the Vandals even scored and I do not think they ever got any closer than nine points.  The final score was 90-67.

Igor Vrzina and Shepard led Idaho with 14 points each.  Jamal Williams led the Huskies with 16 points and Brandon Roy had 14.  Ryan Appleby came off of the bench to score 11.  Hans Gasser got a fair amount of playing time which was kind of surprising but he did get 8 points.  Brandon Burmeister might be in the doghouse a bit as he did not get as much playing time.  Idaho is the most bruising team we have seen this year and there was two intentional fouls committed.  Their coach also got a technical.  Zane Potter got five minutes of playing time at the end.

Another win for the Dawgs who are now 5-0 for the year.  They extend the nation’s current longest home winning streak at 27 straight games.
