In the Seattle Times was the story that in Vancouver, WA the state patrol was dressing up as panhandlers at freeway off-ramps and busting people for not wearing their seat belts. In only 2.5 hours state troopers stopped 41 vechicals and issued 47 citations including 29 for people not wearing their seat belt. Why people are not wearing their seat belts in 2005 just boggles me my mind. You can debate on if this really is a good use of state troopers time but I think it really is. It keeps people safe and hopefully our insurance rates lower.
