Huskies vs. Bulldogs

Since people have been talking about this all week I think it is OK that I have yet to write up my thoughts on the UW Huskies vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs basketball game from last Sunday.  Let me say first that it was a fun game to be at in person.  There was a big vibe in Hec Ed and the place was packed to the rafters.  Unlike previous years in this series there were not as many Zags in the crowd which was more that that the Huskies are a bgi draw now and there were a lot less single game tickets for the visiting fans to grab up.
Gonzaga was ranked 6th and the Huskies came into the game ranked 18th in the nation.  It was kind of bummer that neither team was at full strength.  Ravio going out hurt for Gonzaga was kind of a bummer but he did light it up against the Huskies last year.  I felt the refs tried to have an impact on the game and there were lots of fouls called.  Honestly I still cannot figure out why Adam Morrison is as good as he is.  He does seem to make a lot of shots while closely guarded and with a high release he is hard to block.  He had an amazing 43 points for Gonzaga in their loss; 99-95.  J.P. Bastista had 10 rebound and 16 points for a double double for the Bulldogs.
On the Huskies side Jamal Williams led the team with 22 points as Brandon Roy was on the bench with foul trouble.  Freshman Justin Dentom really stepped his game up in the second half and made some clutch shots to have 17 points for the game.  Ryan Appleby came off of the bench for 14 points going 4-9 from the three point line.

The Huskies move to 7-0 for the year and increase their home winning streak to 29 games.  Gonzaga falls to 4-2.
