Last year I saw over 50 movies in the theatre yet it was at the beginming of the forth month of the year when I finally saw a movie in the theatre this year. In October of 2004 the Beastie Boys handed out 50 super 8 hi-def cameras to the crowd at one of the Madison Square Garden concerts. The movie Awesome; I Fuck’iin Shot That! is the product of those amatuer cameramen/women.
The movie itself was good, especially if you are a B-Boys fan. The concert is from their To the 5 Boroughs tour and features hits from that album along with those from all of their great years. It looked a lot like the show they did in Seattle. Nathanial Hörnblowér aka MCA aka Adam Yauch did a great job as the producer.
The documentary is in a very limited release after playing at places like Sundance. In Washington State it is only playing at two theatres — both in Seattle. I went to a 3:30 pm showing at the Pacific Place theatre and there were only five people in the theatre. If you are going to see it I would recommend you see it soon because it might no last. I guess you can wait for the DVD. You might want to check it out at the Neptune theatre if you see it in Seattle because the sound — mostly the bass was poor at Pacific Place.
Is the bass generally poor at Pacific Place? I guess I haven\’t noticed.
I really had not been disappointed with movies at Pacific Place. I remember that is where I saw the Metallica doc and it sounded fine but the again it was in the big theatre upstairs instead of one of the smaller side ones that they show the B-boys film in.
