Yesterday the news came down that George Carlin had passed away. His seven dirty words that you could not say on TV or radio skit is still memorable 36 years later.
Carlin will alway be remembered by me more for his acting that his comedy although his comedy is very good. Some of my favorites are his part at Rufus in the Bill & Ted movies, the gay neighbor in Prince of Tides, his work in the Kevin Smith movies (Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Jersey Girl), and his voice as Filmore in Pixar’s movie Cars. While I never watched it I know he did many years on Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends on PBS. I do remember him also being a voice on The Simpsons in an episode where Homer goes back to the farm he grew up on and he finds hippies there.
I guess I will have to find another person to make me laugh. RIP George.
